SQE SOLICITOR ACCOUNTS

SRA ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS

In the Lecture Solicitor Accounts, participants will learn how to apply relevant core principles of double entry bookkeeping and the SRA Accounts Rules appropriately and effectively at the level of a competent newly qualified solicitor in practice, to realistic client-based and ethical problems and situations in the following areas:

  1. Transactions involving client money and money belonging to the authorised
  2. Operation of ledgers and bank accounts; the payment of
  3. Breaches of the SRA Accounts
  4. Accounting entries required; bills; obtaining and delivery of accountants’ reports; obligations regarding record keeping
  5. Demonstration on screen with the Tutor.

You will also learn how to demonstrate your ability to act honestly and with integrity and in accordance with the SoSC, the SRA Principles and the Code of Conduct. Many different scenarios drawing upon and applying knowledge from the areas of law and practice set out below. Questions may draw on any combination of the subject areas within this FLK assessment 2 which might be encountered in practice.

This Lecture will be followed by a MOCKS WORKSHOP: Solicitor Accounts on 18 June 2023.
